For those of you who don’t already know, an “island site” is more commonly known as a “ring of steel”; a form of protection using controlled access, search tactics, boundary protection and appropriate monitoring that effectively seals off an area in order to provide the most comprehensive protection possible for a given event, group or individual asset.
